Who is Jesus?[edit]

He is the son of Mary with egg fertilization accomplished by God and bringing forth a son whom Joseph and Mary were told to name Jesus. In reality, though, 1John 4:9 and John 3:16 both tell us that Jesus was God's "... one and only Son ..." prior to the creation of the world. Unfortunately, God doesn't define for us what "one and only Son" means or how He performed the transformation of God into man (called "incarnation"). All that we know is that it happened and that an Angel was sent to convince Joseph that it was God's intervention. Jesus is God, or more correctly, He is a part of the "Godhead" or the "Trinity".

What is the Incarnation?[edit]

Incarnation literally means embodied in flesh or taking on flesh. In Christianity the incarnation refers to Jesus being born as a human by His earthly mother Mary. Since Jesus is God, an integral part of the Trinity, there are numerous Bible verses that portray His existence long before His human birth. In short, the word "incarnation" is theological jargon for the transformation of the Son of God into a human form named Jesus.

What is the Trinity?[edit]

This is theological jargon for the embodiment of one God that is comprised of three entities fully united as one. This is God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit. God's Word [refer to "Holy Bible"] gives numerous examples of these entities doing different tasks yet all being united in their action and directly connected to God the Father. This is also referred to as the "Godhead" or the "Triune God".

Trinity - Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary

The coexistence of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the unity of the Godhead (divine nature or essence). The doctrine of the trinity means that within the being and activity of the one God there are three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Non-Biblical References:[edit]

For Islam Jesus is considered a prophet, while Mormonism considers him God's human son which may, like all Mormons, become a god of one of the planets. Jehovah Witnesses consider him as a good man born of Mary.

Overview:[edit]

Jesus is the "Son of God" only because of His incarnation being born of Mary. Jesus is an integral part of the Trinity who lived for 32 years and witnessed for only 3. He put together a team of 12 disciples and was crucified on the cross because the people at the time chose Him over a thief sentenced to death. On the third day He arose declaring that all that believe in Him as their personal savior will spend eternity in heaven as one of God's personal family.[refer to "Salvation"]
